Second Opinions and Consultations

Sometimes a doctor's training or experience enables him or her to offer additional options or a better perspective on a medical condition.

Our doctors are always available for second opinions. Prior to preceding with cataract, glaucoma or LASIK surgery, it is always good to get a second opinion.  It is always the patient's right to seek a second opinion, and by doing so it does not necessarily mean that the patient is unhappy with the care provided by their initial ophthalmologist.
Oftentimes a second opinion will corroborate the initial diagnosis or surgical recommendation.  On occasion, however, other options may be provided in the course of the second opinion consultation.  Our doctors are always happy to see patients for second opinions and are happy if the patient desires our staff to be in communication with the patient's original ophthalmologist.  Second opinions are almost always covered by the patient's insurance.
